We’re happy to announce that reservations are open for the Hinkley / Gateway Class of 1974 Reunion planned for August 16-17, 2024. We really hope that many of our friends from high school are joining us for this celebration of our shared past.

Don’t want to sign up online? Print a paper copy of the reservation form (available at the link listed above) and send it with your check (if you’re attending the dinner) to Hinkley/Gateway Combined 1974 Reunion, 892 Quail Place, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126. 

All reservations must be received by July 31, 2024.

Events

There are two main events planned for the reunion:

August 16 — Mixer at the Stanley Beer Hall in Aurora from 4 to 7 PM 

August 17 — Dinner at the Valley Country Club in Centennial from 5 to 9 PM

The mixer is set up as a very casual event, with drinks and food available at your cost. The dinner is “country club casual”, with a sit-down dinner featuring delicious entree and dessert choices, fun events all evening, and even a band in a separate room playing your favorite hits to listen or dance to!

We understand that the pricing for this event may appear to be higher than you may have expected. Please think about how the prices of gasoline, utilities, cars, movies, groceries, prescriptions and just about everything else one can think of have gone up in the past few years, then consider that this is a once-in-a-lifetime event!

The dates for the Hinkley / Gateway Combined 1974 Reunion have been changed. The reunion is now scheduled for August 16 and 17th.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Hinkley Class of 74’s very own Linda Matteson, we now have a wonderful venue lined up for the dinner on Saturday night, August 17th. We’ll be celebrating at the Valley Country Club in Centennial, which is near the intersection of Parker Road and Arapahoe Road. If you ever attended “woodsies” near Castlewood Canyon or had friends who lived in Parker, you’ll know the route… although it has changed a lot since 1974.

If any of the Hinkley or Gateway alumni are members of the Valley Country Club, please let Steve know ASAP as we can get a discount on the facility rental if we book it through you. 

Friday night’s event is still at the Stanley Beer Hall at 2501 Dallas Street in Aurora, except it will be on Friday the 16th of August instead of the earlier date.

We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause you. With this being finalized, we’ll start taking reservations for the Saturday night festivities soon.

Like everything else in life, reunions cost money…

At some point in the next few months, we’ll have a way for you to sign up and pay for the reunion dinner on August 10, 2024 — that’s once we determine the venue for the dinner.

Right now, we’d like to appeal to the Gateway and Hinkley alumni out there to help us defray the cost of organizing this reunion. We’ve had minimal expenses setting up our website, but we’ll also need to pay for other things down the road, like dinner venue deposits, decorations for the events, name tags and lanyards, and more.

That’s why we’re asking for your help. If you can make a donation in any amount of $10 or more, you’ll help us to keep things rolling. Click the button below to go to our secure online payment page or get information on how to pay by check.

To the Classes of 1974 from Aurora’s Gateway and Hinkley High Schools, we welcome you.

The weekend of August 16-17, 2024, we will be holding a combined reunion. It’s only fitting, since we shared school facilities in the fall of 1973.

We also plan to share our mixer event on August 16^th with the Aurora Central High School Class of 1974, and they have offered to open their event on September 13^th to all Hinkley and Gateway alumni.

More information will be provided on this web page as it becomes available. This will also be the place to RSVP for the mixer and to sign up for a dinner on the night of August 17^th.
